-There are 70.1 million fathers in America.


- Father's Day is the fourth largest card sending occasion.  According to Hallmark, over 74 

  million cards are sent each year.


- Father's Day was started in 1909 by Sonora Dodd of  Spokane, Washington to honor her own 

  father, after listening to a Mother's Day sermon.


- Dodd started the day to honor her father, William Smart, a widower, who raised his six children      

  on his own.


- Father's Day became an official holiday after President Nixon signed a law that made it   

  permanent in 1972.

Mohammed Ali, known for his quick wit and mighty punch, was an American professional heavyweight. Considered one of the greatest boxers of all time, he was a 3x's heavyweight champion with 37 knockouts and a 56-5 boxing record.
